How to get a blog button

Since I had so much trouble making my blog button I'm going to blog about it. After painstakingly searching through page after page then adding gadget after gadget I was completely insane. I finally found one and here is the code:

<a href="http://YOUR WEB ADDRESS/" target="_blank" title="BLOG TITLE"><img alt="BLOG TITLE" src="http://IMAGE WEB ADDRESS"/></a>

<textarea id="code-source" rows="3" cols="13" name="code-source">
<a href="http://YOUR WEB ADDRESS/"><img border="0" src="http://IMAGE WEB ADDRESS"/></a>
< /textarea>

That's the whole code
Replace the underlined text with the appropriate information on a word document and paste to the html gadget.

The http://IMAGE WEB ADDRESS is the direct link to your image. I used photobucket  as it's really easy. (Just upload your already made button to here)
Replace web address with your blog address i.e http://inkdropperr.blogspot.ie
This is where it went wrong for me on my first attempt. I left a space between the text and the... um what are they called again? ==> ( " )
Yeah, anyway replace BLOG TITLE with the name of your blog.
Simple as. (Says the one who spent a whole day trying to get it to work)
This will also give the box underneeth where followers can copy and paste the code for your button.
If you don't want the box use this:
<a href="blog address/"><img border="0" src=" direct link to photo"/></a>

Don't forget to test it after.
If anyone has any problems please let me know. I don't want to be giving bloggers wrong information and wasting their time on ANOTHER non working code.
leave me your blog address if you used it and it works.
I'd love to see it
And then after all that I found out you could just upload a picture from your computer with the picture gadget and add a URL
while taking other blogger's button by saving/copying and using picture gadget
(sigh)

Rainbow Cake

So recently I've been seeing a lot of rainbow cakes all over pinterest and we heart it. They look so awesome I just had to try it. I used a basic maderia mixture and just added approximatly a teaspoon of food colouring to each bowl Most of the pictures I'd seen have at least 6 layers but I only used 4 and that was plenty. Between each layer I used butter cream.
I wasn't sure what to write on top as there was no occasion for it. So I just wrote "Summer"
It was well worth making it

What I've been up to

So this summer I took up a new hobby, cross stitch. The first thing I think of when i hear anything with a needle is Grannys but I'm a teen and I actually like this. Here is my first completed project
And now I'm currently working on a multi-coloured hippie bag. A bit of a jump from a few letters to a whole bag. Hopefully it works out.
While I was out shopping I came across this incredible chocolate stall at a market. Everything looked so good but best of all was the piano chocolate. I was so excited I couldn't stop saying oh my gosh! I really love my piano so to me it was worth buying a whole packet full.
Now I really want to buy a piano mold. That would be so cool.
I also completed my blog button. This took me ages to get right. A lot of the codes I used wouldn't work but I finally got there.
You can grab my button from the sidebar. Leave me a comment so I'll take your button in return
Have a lovely Thursday

To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is considered a classic. It's a book told from the perspective of little Scout Finch. She, a long with her brother Jem and supposedly future husband Dill take a journey to maturity. They see the way the world is with it's faults and wonders. Racism and predjudice is a big factor in this story when Atticus, Jem and Scout's father, defends Tom Robinson a black man. The main feature that held my attention was the mysterious Boo Radley, the Finch's neighbour. He was rarely seen and said to only come out at night. The children fed each other's imagination with rumors about his appearance and reasons for remaining hidden, and they fantasized about how to get him out of his house.
To Kill a Mockingbird is not my usual type and it would probably have never stood out from the rest of those wonderful novels except for the fact it is one of the most famous. The book I picked up from my library was tattered and bruised from overuse.
I didn't think it was amazing but that was probably because I had expected more from it. Don't get me wrong it is a really good book but people shouldn't tell you it's incredible before you read it. I t deals with serious issues during troubled times so don't go bringing it with you on holidays.
I've also heard it's read in schools often but so far we've never had to study it.
My rating for this book is 7.5/10.

my PIANO CAKE

My birthday was a while back and for it I decided to treat myself by baking a PIANO CAKE!! If you do not know why this seems so thrilling to me it is because I adore my Piano. I just love it so much. My Piano is one of my favourite things.
Here is my drawing as I prepared to transform it into a chocolate cake:
... and then this is what it turned out like
I used a square tin and cut out the shape from there. It tasted delish.
...mmmm...
yummy!
In the near future I think I'll attempt another Piano cake but it will look a lot more professional than this one.

Happy Father's Day

Today I dedicated a whole page of my scrapbook to my Dad!
The inspiration came from my Dad's reading glasses. They're like a magnifying glass so everything looks bigger through them. I imagined them on a newspaper  with the words behind the glass, standing out.
From there I designed this page. I'm sure you could add to it and make it a whole front page of a newspaper. Or if you have a lot more time than I have, you could type it yourself and make it all out about him.
Thanks for being the best Dad in the World!

GREY'S ANATOMY!!!

I'm in shock.
I knew someone was going to die but never would I have guessed Lexie. We were warned, it would be the end for one of our favourite docs so i had my tissues at the ready.
Episode 24, season 8 ... incredible. There was Webber; at the hospital preparing his dinner celebration, Teddy; offered a phenomenal opportunity as the chief of medcom then fired from Seattle Grace, Bailey; engaged to Ben, Christina; dislocated her shoulder, Derek; messed up hand, Mark; needed surgery in the middle of a forest, Arizona; bone sticking out of her leg; Lexie; RIP and the one and only Meredith Grey; peice of plane sticking out of her and sister dead.

Without a doubt this was one of the most dramatic finales ever!

It was heartbraking when Mark confessed his love for Lexie in her final few minutes. If only he had said it sooner!
Funniest moment: Yang lost her shoe.
I just love Grey's Anatomy so much.

Till next season Grey,

Lemon Squares

My latest craze has been lemon cake. I just can't stop eating it!I love the creamy icing with white chocolate and that sudden lemon flavour. I attempted making my own version of lemon cake but unfortunately I overused the lemon with all my excitement and got a really bitter taste. :(
At least it doesn't look so bad!

The most basic Scrapbooking

Enough with all that fancy (and really expensive) paper and back to good ol' plain colour card.
I set myself a rule of using only the most basic essentials. So this meant no pretty flowers or ready made frames!

I chose the colours as in the picture for the card. After a lot of thinking i came up with a template.

Tuesday

The classic Oreo Cheesecake!

Honestly, i don't usually like cheesecake but when i heard there was oreos in this one how could i resist. I found the recipe at home on an "oreo tasty treats" booklet and without hesitating i had my trusty wooden spoon in hand.

First step was crumbling 18 oreos and mixing it with 50g of butter. I then pressed it into the cake tin.

Mix 400ml of philadelphia original, 100g caster sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla essence. Add 3 eggs, one at a time. Then stir in 30g of plain flour and 100ml of sour cream
Add 4 crused oreos. Pour into baking tin and bake for 55 minutes at 160*C, then cool for approximately  4 hours in fridge before serving.
Yum!

Blueberry Muffins

This is my first attempt at blueberry muffins and also my first post from my cookbook, so i was really excited making these!
These are really simple to make and just gorgeous served warm with whipped cream and blueberries.
I used 280g of plain flour, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of baking powder, mixed them with 150g of frozen blueberries and 115g of brown sugar.

After beating 2 eggs I combined them with 250ml of milk, 85g of melted and cooled butter, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a grated rind of a lemon.
I spooned them into a greased tin. 3 of them I used paper cases. Big mistake! Later, the paper stuck and was impossible to remove.

Enjoy!
