Interview #6

Hi Cat a warm welcome to my humble abode.
Thank you for having me! It's an honour to be here. ^_^

You've been blogging for a long while now, tell me, what is it about blogging that made you stick with it?
It's a mixture of things. I think the main reason is simply because I love blogging and it's became a normal part of my life over the years. It does sometimes feel like a chore if I'm running low on ideas but I always get my passion back as soon as I've had a little time away. I think because I've been at it a good chunk of my life I would miss it a crazy amount if I stopped. Also, I get amazing feedback from readers and a lot of support which keeps me motivated.

You've very cleverly named you're blog "Through a Cat's Eyes", but if you had to choose any other title what would it be?
Oh wow, I have no idea! My blog started out as "What I've done today" (lame, I know) so I guess if I hadn't thought of "Through a Cat's Eyes" it would still be called that.

Imagine this, you're stuck on an island, completely deserted when you find a tea pot washed in with the waves. It happens to be a genie lantern, he grants you one wish for any object you may fancy (but you cannot wish for more wishes). What is the wish?
Awesome question :D We got asked a similar question in my primary school year book when I left and as far as I remember I said I would wish for a kettle.... Somehow I think my answer has changed since then. :P Now I think I would wish for a phone with unlimited call time and texts so I could keep in contact with my friends and family until I get off the island. I wouldn't go insane if I had someone to talk to.

In your opinion what makes a great blogger?
Someone who is completely individual and true to themselves; someone who doesn't conform and try to become popular by doing what they think is "right" , someone who doesn't really care what people think of their blog. I think that these things just come with time because I find that some new bloggers think that there is some sort of formula that makes a good blogger, but there really isn't. It's all about being yourself. :)

Besides blogging what are your hobbies?
I'm obsessed with paying ukulele.... I have a pink uke called Gus and he is quite literally the love of my life.  I also play piano (my keyboard is called Fletcher and my piano is called Margo...)  but I kinda go through phases of playing a lot then not playing at all for a while. Of course I also love reading and watching films but the weather's been picking it up a bit recently so I've been spending more time out with my friends :D It's quite sad but I'd say I spend most of my time watching YouTube videos, I found YouTube in 2009 and got sucked in. I still haven't found my way out of that black hole. O_O

You are given the chance to design one room in The Night Circus (have you read the book?) , using all of your creativity, uniqueness and magic, describe this tent in the circus. Remember there are no limits.
I haven't actually read The Night Circus I'm afraid..... :(

What are your aspirations for the future?
Questions like this scare the hell out of me because I quite literally have no idea. Emma Blackery recently made a video saying that it's okay not to have an ambition and not to know what you want out of life, which made me feel a lot better, but I'm still feeling rubbish about not knowing where I'm headed.  :( if money was no issue then I would happily spend my life renovating houses and old derelict buildings, along with designing houses for my friends and family.... I'd love to be an interior designer but at the same time I have a real interest in politics. .... I'm so confused >_<

Thanks Cat!
Thank you for having me! :D

Interview #4

I'd like to welcome Sophie from her blog A Day Dreamer's World! Her blog is another one of my favourites most likely because she is a bookish blogger and her posts are always worth reading.

~Thank you very much Sophie for being the subject of today's interview.
 No, thank you for asking!

~You are a book blogger so I won't dare ask what is your favourite but is there any book at the moment you recommend people read?
Haha! I love answering questions about my favourite books because it means I get to talk about them. But, seriously, it's so hard!
Yes, how dare you for even raising a question like this Marian! ;)

If you haven't read The Hunger Games, I really suggest it! It's my favourite book, and it deserves all the reads it's getting! Katniss is such a strong-heroine, you'll be rooting her on and it's both powerful and emotional. Just buy this book!

Some others that I cannot express how much you need to read are Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, Geek Girl by Holly Smale and The Selection by Kiera Cass. There all different, but I think there's something for everyone in this list!

~Where do you like to read?
I can read pretty-much anywhere. Just give me a comfy seat and a good book and I'm fine. But, I love to read in my room, with some music playing on low volume.

~What inspired you to start blogging?
I saw a Tweet with a link to a Blog on 'Blogger' and at this time, I was looking into doing something like it and was on Tumblr. When I saw how organised Blogger was, I just knew I wanted to be a part of the whole community - and I'm so thankful everyone has welcomed me up. And my love of books overall made it become a Book Blog - especially Jacqueline Wilson!

~How did your blog name "A Day Dreamer's World" come about?
I have no idea! Honestly, I can't remember! I tried out quite a few names first but in the end it seemed the only one that would last! I'm always day-dreaming so, I guess it suits me.
~If there was anything in life you could do what would it be?
Become a New York Times Bestselling author, along with working on Film Sets across the world.

~Have you told many people about your blog?
Not really. My parents and close family/friends know, because I started writing for my local newspaper and It had to be said then! Recently, my class in school discovered that I have a blog but still don't know the name! I'm keeping quiet!

~What is your favourite thing about blogging?
There are so many things but I think it would be the people I get to chat to online and meet!  I get to discuss what I love most and have experienced and grown so much throughout the past year. I still don't understand how my blog got to where it is now!

~Lastly, if you were to rename your blog what would you choose?
Fiction Freak! I'm thinking about changing it at the moment, but I'm not sure. A Day Dreamers World will always be a part of me nevertheless.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your awesome blog Marian!

Interview #3

My March interview is with the lovely Siobhán. So everyone give her a warm welcome. By clicking HERE you can find her blog "There's always light at the end of the tunnel"
And without further ado here is the interview.

1. First up, why did you start blogging?
Well it wasn't really by choice to be honest. It was part of my transition year I.T class. Every student in the class had to keep a blog to document the things we were doing during the year. The idea behind it was to replace the written folder of work each student would have to compile at the end of the year. I didn't take to it very well in the beginning but as time went by I realised that I loved writing and letting people know what was happening in my life.
2. What's your favourite thing about blogging?
That's a tough question. I never thought about it before, I guess my favourite thing would be sharing my story. My blog is a way for me to share my life experiences and help show others that no matter how bad things get that there is hope. I love that people can visit my blog and leave knowing that things get better. There is no limits to the things you can blog about and no matter what there is no stopping you. The freedom to express yourself and be who you really are is another one of my favourite things.
3. Any other hobbies?
Yes indeed!!
I love athletics and have been doing athletics for the past eleven years. I don't know what I would do without athletics in my life, it is such a huge part of me if I didn't have it I don't think I would be me.
Scouts is another one of my hobbies. I don't know why I love t so much I guess its the being active part and meeting new people. I have met people in scouts that have become like siblings to me and I would be lost without them.
Charity work especially related to mental health. I will do anything I can to try and make a difference to the way in which people in our society view mental health. I have been on the receiving end of stigma and so I want to make a difference and ensure young people do not have to experience what I went through in relation to stigma of mental health.

4. Do many of your friends know about your blog?
Hmm I like to think so. I know that my close friends know and any of the friends I made while in transition year know because we were all in the same boat then and we all knew about each others blogs. As I am a very active blogger and post links on facebook and twitter most of my friends would be aware of my blog. I guess being in local newspapers and kiss magazine and the fact I never shut up about my blog means that people know I blog, weather or not they read it is another questions all together.
5. How did you choose the name of your blog?
I don't really have a very good answer to this questions. I use to have lots of different quotes stuck on my bedroom wall and Theres always light at the end of the tunnel was one of them. I just decided I like it and figured that if I ever did want to write about really personal things in my life the title would suit. It shoe people that there is hope and one of the main thins my blog is about is providing hope for those who need it most.
6. What's your favourite animal?
That's a bit of a random question. Emm well I guess my favourite animal would have to be either a dog or goldfish.
7. I guess it is a bit random.... In a totally different direction then, what is your ambition in life?
Hmm well my ambition in life is to..... I don't know really. I guess I would like to go to college and do youth work. I hope that I will be able to help people in life and make a difference.

Thanks Siobhán for this wonderful opportunity, you were lovely to interview!

Interview #2

Hello, I am very happy to announce my second interview is with the lovely Abbie. She has her personal blog Abbie's treasures which is always filled with kind and thoughtful words. But she also writes for Lilac Daisies (as do I).
So please give a round of applause to Abbie!

~What was the first blog you ever read/followed?
The first blog I ever read/followed was Cat's blog (Through A Cat's Eyes) after I read a blogging article which featured an interview of her in a magazine called 'Shout'. Before that I kinda gave up on my blogging but after reading about Cat and seeing her blog, that's when I realised that blogging could actually be fun and now it is a passion of mine.

~does any of your real life friends have a blog?
No, not really but one of my friends know I have a blog and she created her own. I don't think she does if anymore though!

~what are your hobbies?
Swimming, writing, being with friends and family, reading, meeting new people, shopping and of course blogging.

~Any pets?
Yes, we have a Maltese dog named Cookie who we adore to bits and immediately became a member of the family.

~What does your family think of you blogging?
Well, my family doesn't really know about my bblog as I never tell them. My friend and her mum knows who was really impressed by blog and one day she was talking to my mum in a supermarket and told her about it. So when my mum got home, she asked if she could have a look and she seemed to like it. She hasn't looked at it since though.
~what is your most prized possession?
Probably my Pandora bracelet my parents gave to me for my thirteenth birthday back in 2011 and I adore it so much.
~Do you have a favourite book/movie/tv programme?
My favourite book is the Twilight Saga, my favourite movie is Titanic and my favourite tv programme is Home And Away.
~Any fears?
Definitely the sight of bees or wasps!!!!!! When I hear their buzzing sounds I literally scream!!
~How did you come up with your blog name?
First it was called 'Abbie Piano' which wasn't a very good title to have for a blog, then it was called 'Life Through The Happiest Moments You Could Ever Imagine' and finally I came up with 'Abigail's Treasures'. I wanted something that reflected to my posts, butterflies - followers..... etc and do feel like treasures, so that's why I called my blog 'Abigail's Treasures'.

~If you could change your blog name to anything what would it be?
Great question...... Ummmmm.... maybe 'Looking Through The Eyes Of A Piano' as I always wonder what it would be like to see through the eye of a piano, so maybe that!!!

~And lastly what is your ambition in life?
My main ambitions of life is to get good marks in the Junior/ Leaving Cert, publish some books, bring out my own clothing range, fall deeply in love and be happy overall!!!! :)

Thank you very much Abbie for being such a wonderful interviewee!!

Interview #1

On the 28th of every month I plan to interview a fabulous blogger. First up is the wonderful Ruby from her book-mad blog: Feed Me Books Now.
Everyone give a warm welcome to Ruby!

one two check check. on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Before we begin I want to thank you very much for being my first interviewee. And also for your amazing entry in the writing competition a few months back. I adore your blog and your book reviews. It's usually where I go to choose what book I'll go track down to read next.
What ever made you decide to create your own blog? I've always loved reading and writing, and so combining those two hobbies seemed like the perfect waste of time! :)

-What's your favourite thing about blogging?
Ummm... There's so much! But what I really love is when somebody reads one of my posts and has something deeply thoughtful to say – it just makes me smile! :) Oh, and and another thing I loooveee are all the amazing bloggers I've met *cough* Marian *cough*.

-On average, how long does it take to read a book? Hmmm... It depends if I like the book. But on average, I'd say one or two nights, I'm quite a fast reader when I want to be.

-Is there anything other than reading that you love as much? Well, I love a lot of things! I've always had a passion for writing, but I'm also quite arty. I keep an art journal (well, I did until I lost it) and I draw a lot in my free time. So yeah, I love anything to do with craft! :P

-Did you ever think your blog would be so popular?
Nooooo.... Definitely not. When I started, my aim was to get 10 followers! When I passed that goal, I got a bit tooooo happy! Like, really happy.

-Do many of your friends know you have a blog? Ummm... To be honest, I haven't told any of them. Well, I've told one of my primary school friends, but I haven't told any of my secondary school friends. I don't know if they'd get it... The person I've told is really into reading, and so it was easy to tell her!

-How did you come up with the name of your blog "Feed Me Books Now"?
It was actually inspired by a quote from the Inkheart series: ''Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be
chewed and digested.''
I liked the concept of books being like food... And so I ended up with a name that sort of reflected that idea. Also, I wanted to add in a little picture of a monster somewhere!

-If you had to rename your blog for some unknown reason, what would you choose? Hmmmm... Probably 'The Book Thief' or maybe 'Bazinga Books!'... Can you guess what inspired me there?

-Ha! Brilliant name. Speaking of Sheldon Cooper, he has a lot of fears like the fear of  falling (which actually is the fear of heights) do you have any weird fears? I'm not scared of anything weird at the moment, but in the past, I did have a lot of ummm... unusual fears. To name a few: I used to have a fear of people wearing my shoes, I used to be scared of my shadow and I used to be terrified of tree houses... I think it's safe to say I've matured.
-What is your favourite TV show? The Big Bang Theory!!!! But I also love Sherlock and Doctor Who!
-And lastly what is your ambition in life? Well, I know it would be difficult, but I've always wanted to publish a book... I write a lot, and so to have other people read my work would be amazing!

And that's a wrap!
Special thanks to Ruby for being such a wonderful interviewee!
