Why I detest the Leaving Cert

It is 41 days, 14 hours, 3 minutes and 35 seconds until the leaving cert. Yes, I counted. Yes, I think it is ironic that I'm sitting here in front of the laptop whilst freaking out about how little time I have to study. Yes, I know I should be studying. Yes, I know I'm going to fail because of this. Yes, I know - OH MY GAWD, JUST GIVE IT A REST ALREADY!!!! You don't have to rub it in that my future looks so so bleak!
*flings laptop out the window* *falls to knees in defeat*
*runs outside and brings back poor laptop - "I'm so sorry, please forgive! You're the only thing getting me through the next 60 days"*

(hehe, sorry, had to that)

I'm calm now. Let this post recommence.
I detest the Leaving Cert. I'm not sure if you got that from my little spiel up there but I really can't stand it. Why you ask?
Well, have you never heard of this horrific exam at the end of secondary school that determines your ENTIRE FUTURE? No? Yes? Maybe?
Anyhoo, basically all the students in sixth year in Ireland sit in huge halls together with a single table, chair and a fully equipped pencil case to do a 3 hour exam per paper per subject in June. This year I'll be one of those misfortunate people.
The Leaving Cert infuriates me because
  • It's a really big test. And who likes tests?
  • The pressure and stress that accompanies it is huge
  • How well you get on can decide what you will be studying next year
  • It can affect you for the rest of your life
  • I have to study 41/7
  • There is not enough hours in the day to fit all that in.
  • I have no time to do anything else
  • I never get to blog or read other blogs
  • I fall asleep every time I open a book. (I think it's a reflex action to seeing words in sentences)
  • I have no life now
  • I can't blog
  • I can't enjoy reading
  • I can't blog
  • I miss my favourite programmes (Grey's Anatomy)
  • I can't blog.
  • I can't blog
  • And oh - I can't blog.
On the plus side my aunt gave me a bag full of chocolate and Coke to keep me awake at night.... to study...

The real reason for this post was to explain why I can't keep up to date with blogging for the next 2 months. Apologies. And please ignore my very bad mood and ranting.

    Best of luck with the leaving cert Marian,you'll do brilliant.
    I can totally relate to this. My brother is in the leaving cert and I can see all of this with him. The stress in our house is intense and we can't wait for it to be over.

    aw dude i totally feel for you!!

    i still have a year to go before my finals, but i have a few science exams in a couple of weeks for my core gcses, perhaps i should study?

    anyway, a massive good luck for you, i bet what youre going through id really hard but remember YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
